With the latest app update, we’ve expanded SmokeFire’s temperature range so that pellets can smolder as low as 165 degrees. SmokeBoost was designed to smoke pellets within the 165 - 200 degree temperature range, depending on weather conditions, to create the best wood fired flavor in food.
For best results, we recommend using SmokeBoost at the beginning of your cook. Smoke penetrates cold, raw meat best, and then slows down over time. Once the internal meat temperature reaches 145-150 degrees, smoke won’t adhere to meat, and therefore won’t have as much of a flavor impact.
