Turn on the grill’s main burners and set them for high heat.
Turn the sear zone knob to the ON position.
Preheat your grill for 15 minutes.
After preheating, leave the sear burner control knob and the burner knobs to either side on high.The remaining burner(s) can be turned to off or low. NOTE: The amount of time you use the sear zone depends on the type of meat, its thickness and your cooking method (approximately 60-90 seconds for quality sear marks).
Once searing is complete, the meat can be moved over to moderate heat and cooked to your desired doneness.
