Preheat the griddle for 10 minutes on the temperature setting that you’ll be cooking with. For example, if you’re cooking pancakes, preheat on LOW. If you’re cooking smashed burgers, preheat on HIGH. Preheating may take longer in extremely cold conditions.
- If this is the first time using your griddle, make sure to follow the proper seasoning steps first.
- Open the hard griddle cover
- With the cover open, preheat the griddle for 10-15 minutes using the temperature that food will be cooking at. NOTE: The difference with preheating a griddle vs a standard grill, is that you’ll preheat at the temperature you’ll be cooking at, not always on high. Check out our tips here.
